TREND AT CB2: MATERIAL FUSION

CB2 Eastside is a great store to capture ideas for your home!! It is located on Third Avenue and 58th, ground floor of the D&D Building. One of the many helpful sales people there is Lana: she is knowledgable and nice! My experience at CB2 rippled a few MOD Trends, like Typography, but the coolest of them all is Material - Fusion. CB2 Eastside showcases how modern furniture, lighting and accessories mix materials with different textures. Contrasts of lacquer and wood, metal and wood, velvet and linen, ooh la la!! Take a peekster:

My fave are these 'Nigel bed linens'. The bold velvety dark/light grey bands contrasts with neutral cotton/linen stripes. The differnt textures from linen to velvet, feels oh so nice to the touch! $149

The 'Club 2-tone chair' is a cool boxy chair that says cuddle in! It has a tactile combo showing a plush velvet mustard cusion against a linen neutral color weave.  $799

The 'Ion Credenza' has a Mondrian- modern twist. The four different doors have different finishes: two in smoky brown mango wood; and two metal-clad,  one with antiqued zinc finish and one in hi-gloss white powdercoated finish. $999

The 'Noir pendant lamp' is teardrop sculptural shaped pendant. The shade is powdercoated matte black and mixes with a solid beech wood cap. $249

The contact stool' adds a flavor of industry to a modern kitchen. This stool has a combination of wood and metal. Has a solid mango seat swivels on a cast iron base.

The 'Hitch marigold stool' has a wonderful hi-gloss pop of marigold color in contrast to a solid acacia clear- water-based lacquered wood seat. $169

The 'Yield coffee table' seves coffee from room to room due to its oversized aluminum wheels. Can't take my eyes off that pop of yellow either! The iron frame supports a glass top. $449

'Mod'sters, come back on Tuesday for more Trends!
