Superb Sangria with Pineapple, Pear and Oranges

Happy 2014!

Do you love wine? Do you love fruit with a kick? Then there is nothing better then some good sangria with some great friends to ring in the New Year! That's just what we did!

I lived in Barcelona while studying architecture and tasted some of the best Sangria of Spain.... so I had to contact my dear friend in Barcelona for the authentic concoction. It came out soooo good that I have to share it for your next party!:

The ingredients (8 servings):

- 2 bottles Spanish Tempranillo
- 1 quart Club Soda
- 3/8 cup Grand Marnier
- 1 1/2 cups vodka (Titos)
- (2) oranges - chopped and sliced
- (2) pears chopped
- (1) pineapple chunked
- 1/2 cup orange juice or can of Fanta (makes the sangria sweeter). We opted not to do it this time.

How to:

The trick to a perfecto Spanish Sangria is the fruit! Make sure you buy the pear and pineapple and let it ripen over a day or two. On the day of your party, chop the fruit up and let it soak in the vodka and Grand Marnier. Chill it baby in the refrigerator for 4 hours. You want cold Sangria!

When its party time, pour two bottles of red wine into a large punch bowl over the delectable pears, and pineapple. Add 1 bottle of club soda and the 1/2 cup of orange juice. Arrange sliced oranges on the top to make it look pretty. Voila...enjoy!!
