TUESDAYS TREND: TRAVELER'S TRUNK AT RESTORATION HARDWARE

MY VINTAGE TRUNK

I love my vintage traveler’s trunk that my husband and I got on the Island of Nantucket.  It now sits proudly, with its handsome detailing, in our master bedroom and reminds me of our love of Travel.  It took a lot of muscle, by boat and by car, to get this vintage piece home. And guess what, all you have to do is go to Restoration hardware to get one yourself.  Restoration Hardware replicated a 20th century steamer trunk and created a whole collection: stationary desk, travelling desks, beds, and dressers.

What I love about trunks is that they can function as furniture and storage if you live in a small space. You don't have to live in a cramped and cluttered small space. Embrace small spaces and purchase furniture that can double as storage!! The trunk can act as an end table, coffee table or home office. Restoration Hardware even created a mobile office that can close up and appear like a vintage piece of furniture. How cool! See pics below:

The aging is amazing, looks like its been on some important journeys!

This trunk can easily be used as a coffee table! The Trunks are constructed with wood frames and clad in two finshes: water resistant waxed canvas or clad with aluminum. These trunks are finished with hammered pins, braced with strips of aged bamboo, trimmed with antiqued brass, fitted with leather handles and corner protectors, and equipped with brass luggage latches.

Oh, the creative juices would be flowing at this desk!

LOVE FOR MY SON'S ROOM!

THE HAMMERED PIN DETAILING GIVES AN OLD TRUNK THAT COOL MODERN TWIST!

TRUNK AS TV CONSOLE, LOVE IT!

TRAVELLING DESK THAT FOLDS UP OR HIDING PLACE FOR KIDS??

GREAT ORGANIZATION!!
