Creative Picnic Ideas: DIFFA Picnic by Design 2014

Wouldn't you love to invite a few friends and knock their socks off with a creative picnic? Steal some ideas from this fabulous event where the DIFFA organization, who promotes education for those living with AIDS/HIV through the creative arts, puts on an amazing summer event called “Picnic by Design.” Last week's event showcased up-and-coming and premier design voices who created intimate, unique picnic-scapes. Guests picnic'd on an urban rooftop and took home all the wondrous baskets!

Event is Sponsored by BolonRobert Allen , PoggenpohlCanard Inc.Interior Design Magazine New York Design CenterDark Horse wines, VDKA 6100Corralejo Tequila & Harlem Brewing Company, Nitehawk Cinema,Baked by Melissa & KIND Bars.

The event was so much fun! Besides the landscape of creativity, guests were swaying to music by DJ swells, instagramming to an instagram Tint wall, munching on Nitehawk cinema's yummy tangy popcorn and going back for more sweets that melted in your mouth by Baked by Melissa. Oh, cant forget those amazing cocktails- oh so good....Libations from darkhorse wines, VDKA 6100, Corralejo Tequila & harlem Brewing company.

See the designs below without commentary from me. You will be impressed, and touched by the ingenious creativity!

Urban Rooftop Picnic tomorrow night: DIFFA Picnic by Design event 2014

Tomorrow is the third annual Picnic by Design event! Forty designers are coming together in the support and fight against HIV/AIDS. On an urban rooftop in NYC, designers will create unique picnic baskets that are sold online in advance. Guests will enjoy an evening under the stars (we hope, as the forecast is rain), great food and wine at their one-of-a-kind designer picnic experience. Each guest gets to take their basket home too!

Here's a sneak peek of my picnic design and four other talented designers who are using Robert Allen Fabrics, one of the awesome sponsors of the event..

MoD Design Guru: Farm-Chic inspired wheelbarrow converts into a table|picnic experience.
Uses Reclaimed oak with Landsmeer (Citrine), Illusion Weave (Citrine), Kingswalk(Citrine), and Mod Reeves (Steel) featuring the sunny colors from Robert Allen and DwellStudio’s Modern Color Theory collection. Constructed with the incredible Five Star Millwork-Master trimmer
